CHOCOLATE & CACAO
Locally grown on small farms on the Big Island's Hamakua Coast, our fresh cacao beans are fermented, sun-dried and roasted to perfection right on Sharkey's farm! We then begin the process of transforming the beans into dark, rich, subtly sweet chocolate. That's it! No added preservatives, color or chemicals, just pure Hawaiian cacao, organic cane sugar and a little cocoa butter create a smooth texture and that special, unique Hawaiian Dark Chocolate flavor sensation.
CHOCOLATE MAKES YOU SMART!
The superfood of all superfoods, cacao—the fermented and roasted dried seeds at the root of chocolate—is also high in magnesium, full of antioxidants, calcium, zinc, copper and selenium. Cacao contains more antioxidants per gram than blueberries, goji berries, red wine, raisins, prunes or pomegranates.
Chocolate can be part of a ketogenic diet; however it is important to choose dark chocolate that contains a minimum of 70 percent cocoa solids, preferably more. One ounce (28 grams) of unsweetened chocolate (100 percent cocoa) has 3 grams of net carbs. Shark's Chocolate comes in 73%, 83% and Unsweetened.
